Hi, I’m EMILY!

For much of my career, I worked inside the education system as a classroom teacher with a focus on special and inclusive education.

I supported children with diverse learning needs and worked closely with families, school teams, and specialists. Over time, I began to notice something important: when a child was struggling, their parent (often their mother) was carrying far more than anyone else could see.

And there was very little space for her.

When professional experience became personal

Becoming a parent shifted my perspective.

Even with my background in education, I found myself feeling overwhelmed, second-guessing decisions, and carrying the emotional load that so many mothers quietly hold.

That experience deepened my understanding of what families really need. Not just knowledge of the system, but calm, compassionate support for the parent navigating it.

I also saw the same pattern beyond school.

Mothers reaching a point where their children no longer needed them in the same way, and wondering who they were now after years of putting everyone else first.

Why I do this work

I created The Intentional Collective because I believe support shouldn’t be fragmented. You shouldn’t have to choose between advocating for your child and honouring yourself. I work with mothers at pivotal points, when something feels heavy, unclear, or unsustainable and help them move forward with clarity, confidence, and intention.

Sometimes that support looks like Anchored Advocacy, supporting parents through school challenges and complex education decisions.

Other times, it looks like Your Next Chapter, coaching mothers who are ready to reconnect with themselves and shape what comes next.

Often, it’s both.

How I work

My approach is calm, grounded, and relational. I don’t rush, push, or overwhelm. I believe clarity comes from feeling safe, supported, and understood. My role is simple: to be on your team - helping you find steadiness, clarity, and a way forward that feels right for you.

If you’re here

You don’t need to have it all figured out. If something feels heavy or unresolved, that’s reason enough to start a conversation.
